"Just like i won't give up on my son, I won't give up on any of our kids."
Kristin Selby Gonzalez knows all too well the challenges of understanding the
many aspects of autism spectrum disorder. Kristin’s own son, Jaxson,
was a very sick little boy. Diagnosed with autism at age 2 ½ , Jaxson struggled
significantly with impaired digestion and food intolerances. This produced a
great deal of gastrointestinal distress and with it, many behavioral reactions
to the discomfort and inflammation. Kristin found in her research that even
though autism is classified as a developmental disorder, many are affected with
dietary challenges as well as many other underlying medical issues. Kristin has
been working with her son for over nine years and has seen him progress from
a withdrawn child with no language, to a playful and interractive boy speaking in full sentences, riding a bike, reading and telling his mommy he loves her. Kristin has gained an extraordinary body of knowledge and experience with educational and biomedical interventions as well as play therapy, enzyme therapy, sensory integration and dietary interventions. With her experience, she has set out on a crusade to spread hope for recovery and inspire families across the nation!
